Backup and Restore

The iris-plus-pro-installer provides a convenient way to backup and restore your IRIS+ Professional setup.

During the backup and restore process all related services will be stopped, then restarted once the process has finished. This will result in temporary downtime for the duration of the process.

1. Update the installer

python3 -m venv ~/.professional_env && \
pip3 install --extra-index-url https://pip.professional.irisity.com/simple iris-plus-pro-installer && \
deactivate

(Optional) Initialize the installer

If you have not used the installer before, you will need to initialize it before proceeding with the backup and restore process. This step is only required once.

python3 -m venv ~/.professional_env && \
iris-plus-pro-installer init && \
deactivate

2. List the available backups

iris-plus-pro-installer list-backups

3. Restore from a backup

Without additional arguments, the iris-plus-pro-installer restore command will revert to the most recent backup. If you want to restore a specific backup, you can provide the full path to the desired backup file.

iris-plus-pro-installer restore --backup_source_file=/path/to/backup/file.tar

By default, a backup of the current setup will be created before starting the restore process. To skip this, you can use the skip-backup tag:

iris-plus-pro-installer restore --backup-source-file=/path/to/backup/file.tar --skip-backup
