Users Guide

Follow the steps below to have a working IRIS+ Professional configuration with a Query ready to be run.

Make sure to have a working IRIS+ Professional installation meeting all requirements.

Indexers

IRIS+ Professional uses Indexers to process video files and extract metadata from them. This metadata is then used by Query Types to produce results based on queries for specific objects, people, or complex events in videos.

Depending on the installation type, you may have one or multiple Indexers available and listed here. For example, if you have a single-node installation, the Indexer is running on the same node as the IRIS+ Professional server. In a multi-node installation, you can have multiple Indexers running on different nodes.

Refer to the installation guide for information on how to add Indexers.

Add Query Types

Query Types are the rulesets that take advantage of IRIS+ Professional's video analytics capabilities to produce results based on queries for specific objects, people, or complex events such as tailgating or near-miss scenarios in videos.

  1. In the upper right corner of the screen, click the Settings button.

  2. Click Query Types.

Query Types

All query types added to IRIS+ Professional are listed here. You can also upload new query types and delete existing ones.

  1. Click the +Upload new query type button.
  2. Browse for and upload a .qt file using the upload interface.
